What aspect ratios are available?
Free (any shape), 1:1 (square — perfect for profile pictures), 16:9 (widescreen/YouTube thumbnails), 4:3 (classic photo), 3:2 (print photo), and 9:16 (mobile/Instagram Stories).
Can I crop freely without a fixed ratio?
Yes. Select Free mode and drag any corner or edge handle to any position. There are no restrictions on the crop dimensions.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping only removes the pixels outside the selected area — there is no re-encoding or quality loss on the pixels that remain.
What image formats does Snip support?
JPEG and PNG as input. The cropped result is downloaded as PNG to preserve quality.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device and are not stored anywhere.
